Incubus Frontman Shares His Love of 'Thriller' and Zombies

Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd is certifiably a Michael Jackson fan, but he didn't identify with the single glittery glove or the snazzy suits and hats. His favorite MJ era is more ghoulish.

"When I was in fourth grade, I wanted to be Michael Jackson as the zombie in 'Thriller,'" Boyd tells Spinner. "I identified with the zombie version of Michael Jackson, so much so that for my fourth grade birthday party, I had a 'Thriller' birthday party and we watched 'Thriller,' the long version, like three or four times in a row, and then we tried to imitate all the dances."

Boyd has even dressed up as a zombie for Halloween "many times." "Yes, zombies are very chic these days if you didn't know," Boyd says. "In fact, there is so much of a zombie subculture that there are actually people who have a genuine fear of zombies, theoretically. There are websites that you can go to where you basically will be educated as to what to do theoretically, in the event of a zombie invasion. And apparently the best place to go is a Costco."

Wait, Costco? "I swear to science," he says. "Google 'what to do in a zombie invasion' and watch what comes up. It's kind of amazing. It's just so we know. Just in case."
