Courtney Love Blames Malnourishment on Financial Stress

Courtney Love isn't saying she's anorexic, but she concedes she's looking "painfully thin" lately. "I know I've got too skinny," the Hole frontwoman told the Daily Mirror. "I know I need to sort it out."

Love, who looked downright voluptuous a few years ago, says her doctor diagnosed her with malnutrition two weeks ago. "He gave me a massive shot of vitamins and told me to start eating," said the 44-year-old rocker, who reportedly weighs just 84 pounds and is five feet, 10 inches tall.

Of course, the recent financial trauma of being sued by American Express over unpaid credit coupled with her 2008 claims that identity thieves looted $72 million from the estate of her late husband, Kurt Cobain, might sabotage anyone's appetite. Others estimate that the entire $750 million fortune Cobain left to Love and their daughter Frances Bean is gone, so it's little wonder why she's in such bad shape.

"I need to start working out again," Courtney told the paper. "It's the stress -- you have no idea what is has been like these last few months. I need to get to the bottom of this fraud, I need answers."

    S-T-R-E-S-S is a killer.
My step-father had his first heart attack @ age 38 ..
(the stress @ work was @ an all time high)
By the age of 43, he died.
    I understand stress.
It is hurting me right this very minute; went through a major lay off in April. Other family members are suffering due to major lay offs @ work. Homes have been lost. I also believe "it could be worse" therefore,
I THANK GOD IT ISN'T. My family and I pray for America -
This land we love with all our hearts. We pray for strength, courage, a never quit, never give up, determination to move forward, no matter what.

So well-said and so sad....we are all going through rough times. I try to be optimistic and enjoy every day because we never know how long we have and we can't take anything material with us. That's why I try not to stress over material things. Not worth it.

actually, i don't think that was well said at all...

is it seriously too much trouble to spell out "at"? this symbol "@" is not a word in the english language. I know I don't have perfect spelling or grammar, but come on...really?

You are sooo brave. God bless you and i will keep you in my prayers. It IS hard. I havent lost a job, but just may bc i am chronically ill and keep being hospitalized and having surgery. I keep the faith too, its the only thing to keep going. I know that if God lead us to it,He leads us thru it. He is still in the business of miracles and He WANTS you to succeed. At this moment He knows you believe and trust in Him and is lining up all the right opportunities at the right time with the right people. You WILL prosper with your fantastic and motivated will. Its when people let hard times take away their hope and will that they wither. Good for you, you truly inspire me. I hope you will email me and let me know how you do. masondesireeaol.com

God bless you. I know how you feel. I had an accident and have a really hard time getting myself together to get to work which salary wise is very diminshed by 1/2 an I am very close to losing my home of 14 years. I just trudge n though because I won't give up even after my ex-husbnd abandoning us> I know I ill be okay after all I did have the grace of God to raise three wonderful sons into great men, fathers and hubands.
    You hang in there.

Sharon, my heart goes out to you. Yes stress is a killer. Please, please, try to somehow find contentment even in difficult times, remembering that all over the world so many have it far worse than even our most impoverished Americans. I do NOT mean that to minimize what you and your family are enduring in any way. That's how I get by when times are hard, too. Your post touched my heart...I will pray for you and your family. Best wishes to you.

That's exactly what an Anorexic says....never give up never give in, you are in control while ED is lying, lying, lying....ED is in control and ED wont give up control until one who is controlled by ED (Anorexia) decides thats it....Courtney needs to say I Courtney Love is in control. I want my life back, but to give up drugs for another controlled addiction: Anorexia its an easy switch, ask Nicole Ritchie. I know my daughter was an anorexic.

So very true! When my doctor looked me in the eye and said, "STRESS WILL KILL YOU". I was even more stressed after our conversation...I too have become very thin and my immune system has become compromised. I have had Scarlet Fever 3 times and concerns about my heart have been raised as a result. Stress is a hard diagnosis to take. How do you fix that? I know we all have stress however, some people can manage it better than others. I just turned 40 a few days ago and I am a mother to two wonderful children. I hope to learn how to take care of me so I can be the healthy mom my kids deserve. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who are under such tremendous stress that their bodies just turn on them. Kudos to those who have mastered other ways to manage stress. Reach for hope, faith, and wishes of mercy to us all:)

To Westmoonrising: Is it seriously too much trouble to capitalize the first word in a sentence and proper nouns (like English)? Shame on you for "calling the kettle black."
