Aerosmith continues to postpone concerts this week due to a leg injury incurred by frontman Steven Tyler. Thursday night's show in Charlotte, North Carolina, and all the way through Monday's Fort Lauderdale gig are the latest to be scrapped as a result of what the band's website still vaguely attributes to "an artist injury."Thankfully, the band's Twitter-happy guitarist Joe Perry has been more forthcoming, revealing that guitarist Brad Whitford -- who had been sitting out part of the tour after having surgery for a burst blood vessel -- "is up and ready to rock as soon as [singer] Steven [Tyler's] leg muscle feels better." He's also asked fans to pray for "Steven's speedy return."
As for the Florida gigs, Perry wrote Wednesday, "Tampa Fort Lauderdale both rescheduled in Oct. Sorry for the let down. Better Steven recovers fully than halfway n strains his leg again." Just a day prior, the guitarist posted that he was "just waiting for a call from Tyler so Aerosmith can rock you guys outta the venues n back again."
As for the injury itself, fans who attended the group's last live show on June 29th in Connecticut, have suggested that Tyler hurt himself onstage. This marks seven canceled shows since the band called off its July 1st date in Cincinnati.
