"This is us moving on from a really, really devastating blow. I carry this every day forever." --Sean Kinney

In a recent interview, Alice in Chains drummer Sean Kinney opened up about fallen lead singer Layne Staley, who they've only lightly talked about until their forthcoming album, 'Black Gives Way Into Blue.'

I still think it's shitty what they're doing. Change the name; start a new group.

I agree, without Layne it's just not the same. AIC is one of my all time favorite bands and I still can't believe he's been gone for so long. It's one thing for Jerry to sing the songs but someone else, hell no.

AIC have been one of my favourite bands for a VERY long time, having seen them from the front at sonisphere festival and at the tiny venue that is Scala in london recently i have to say William Duvall is brilliant. he doesnt try to sound like layne but gives the songs his own feel. People need to give them a break, they gave two massively awesome performances at their recent UK shows and i think they are just as good as ever. YES layne staley was amazing and will never be forgotten but there were 3 other members that made up the band and to say AIC is nothing without layne is an insult to them! Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez and Sean kinney are legends and for me William Duvall is a welcomed addition, i also met the whole band at scala and they are lovely dudes to boot! we are PRIVILEGED that we get the opportunity to see such an iconic band playing their brilliant songs live and i think its what layne would have wanted. REAL fans would understand.

Damn Sean, Maybe you should have listend to me when we where snowboarding at Stevens Pass. "LANE NEEDS REHAB DUDE, HES GOING TO OD JUST LIKE ANDY (ANDY WOODS) DID" You cant say I didn't tell you so Bro. When your frontman locks himself in his Brickstreet Apt and does nothing but shoot smack and eat M&M's, theres a problem Houston. Everybody in Seattle knew it and did nothing.
