Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, Ben Harper to Knock Boots at Ontario's Virgin Festival

Virgin Festival may have abandoned Toronto after several successful outings, but the multi-day music extravaganza hasn't ditched Ontario entirely. Instead, V-Fest is heading north to cottage country with a bill that runs the gamut from alt-rock legends and '80s icons to hippie heroes and hipster faves, with a strong collection of Canadian indie acts, to boot.

Set for Aug. 29 and 30 in Orillia's camping-friendly Burl's Creek Park, V-Fest Ontario can tout industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails and roots rockers Ben Harper and Relentless 7 as festival headliners. They will be joined by a two-day lineup that transcends eras, genres and geography, from the Pixies, Pet Shop Boys and Our Lady Peace to Franz Ferdinand, Grizzly Bear and N.E.R.D.

Led by Sloan, the Canadian contingent is particularly strong, with slots for dance-hop duo Thunderheist, Quebecois crooner Coeur de Pirate, keytar-playing indie-pop star Lights, electro act Candy Coated Killahz and indie rockers Plants and Animals, Rural Alberta Advantage, Silver Starling and D'Ubervilles.
