Indie Supergroup Monsters of Folk Offering Free Song

It must be hard being in a band with modern day indie rock monsters, including two members of Bright Eyes (one of whom is Conor Oberst himself), My Morning Jacket's leading man Jim James and singer/songwriter steamroller M. Ward. The band, called Monsters of Folk, has a self-titled album (these guys are simply monsters, get it?) coming out in September and a tour to follow. But with all that talent, the question arises: who'll take the lead?

"We all brought in the main core of a song, so in one way, one guy would 'lead' the rest of us through the idea of his song," Jim James tells Spinner. "But, at the same time, we were all open to anyone's input and suggestions, which gave it a certain dynamic as well. We spent a lot of time discussing each song and working through it."

One of those songs, 'Say Please,' is now available on the all-star group's official Website, but you'll be prompted to enter a password before you can download it. It really shouldn't take you long to figure the word out -- just remember to ask nicely.
