Mark Oliver Everett, aka E from Eels, has an interesting sales pitch for anyone not sold on watching this behind the scenes clip from his 'Making of Hombre Lobo' documentary."If you enjoy watching bearded men and a dog working on fresh new music about fresh blood, then this video is for you," he tells Spinner. The video of the song, about a werewolf seeking sanguine sustenance, was directed by Bob Dylan's son, Jesse, and features Everett and his wolfman-like beard prowling city streets, stalking a beautiful young woman and, naturally, fighting with men in Mexican wrestling masks.
Continuing with his pitch, Everett notes that the CD version of his 'Hombre Lobo' album -- the title is Spanish for "werewolf" -- includes a link to a 30-minute documentary of "these bearded men and dog working on fresh new music about fresh blood, prizefighting, jealousy, lust, dreaming, dynamiting, longing, frustration, doubt, want and self-assessment. I don't know about you, but I can never get enough of this sort of thing." Frankly, E, we've never tried all those things at once, but we're willing to check it out.
