Former Cream bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce is enduring a bit of backlash after insulting Led Zeppelin. The Rock Hall of Famer has received death threats since he dared say that the 2007 concert featuring Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones was "lame."The whole thing started when in an interview with Classic Rock magazine, Bruce compared the bands' reunion shows saying, "Everybody talks about Led Zeppelin, and they played one f---ing gig -- one f---ing lame gig -- while Cream did weeks of gigs." The 66-year-old then directly addressed the famed quartet and said, "F--- off, Zeppelin, you're crap. You've always been crap and you'll never be anything else ... Cream is 10 times the band that Led Zeppelin is." He also dragged his former bandmate into the ruckus, stating "You're gonna compare Eric Clapton with that f---ing Jimmy Page? Would you really compare that? Eric's good and Jimmy's crap. And with that I rest my case." Burn!
Since then, Bruce told the East Anglian Daily Times that he found out just how passionate Zeppelin's fanbase remains. "It was just a bit of fun and it was blown out of all proportion," Bruce said. "Some Led Zeppelin fans were really angry at me and I had a few death threats -- they're not likely to find me out here though.
"People like me tend to forget that with YouTube and Twitter, you can't say anything without it getting around the world," he continued. "We always used to have a pop at other bands in the old days and that was all it was. It was like I had spoken out against the Queen or something. You obviously can't say anything against Led Zeppelin."
Sure, it's not exactly Tupac versus Biggie but for a battle between blues-based classic rockers, this about as good as you can expect. At least until Keith Richards gets involved, that is.

This is the very stuff that Eric Clapton found disturbing during the Cream Reunion Tour !
Mindless egotism, pride, and arrogance.....
At least Bruce is still consistant in his old age.

Watching the Cream reunion show was like watching old people screw. Eric Clapton still has his chops but Bruce and Baker are way past their prime. In their best day they're not in the same league as Led Zep.

CREAM was a blues- based band, and ZEPPELIN was blues, folk, metal, boogie-woogie, pop, psychedelic, and more. Which band do ya' think is better? Duhhh.

it was lame and jimmy page playing live has always been lame and sloppy. Why do u think they never release any of their live stuff. Page wrote some great songs but honestly they really suck live.......

cream was great for what sort of music ensemble they were. clapton peaked with the dominos. downhill ever since. however he did develop a very nice pop singing style by the early 1990's. led zep was more creative than cream, almost up there with the 1966 to 1970 beatles. but they didn't have classical composer george martin producing and contributing heavily to the final years beatles recorded music either. "cut to the chase": start listening and grooving to classical music, you "biscuit heads"(not as in "limp biscuit", a "band"i think, whoever they are). classical music as in from the dark ages, medieval, baroque, classical, romantic, modern and post modern eras. personally i can't bear to listen to anymore 19th c., "classical" music. it drives me nuts. and i can't spell...blah blah blah blah blah blah blah....
