We've seen Michael Jackson tributes come in the form of statues, songs, speeches, dances and even food, but our new favorite homage to the King of Pop has to be Ben Taylor's video for 'Wicked Way,' a tongue-in-cheek song about smooth operators that combines humor and a bevy of beautiful morphing women. Of course, the morphing faces brings to mind MJ's 'Black or White' clip and Taylor tells Spinner that was intentional."That was my archetypal idea of what a video like that was gonna be like. When Patrik [Andersson, director] said 'morphs' that's immediately what conjured itself in my head," Taylor says, adding they had begun work on the video before Jackson's death. "The way it worked out I guess it is sort of a tip of the hat."
Meanwhile, Taylor has never been a fan of watching himself in clips in the past, but now he's loving it. "Usually when I see videos of myself I don't want to watch and normally when I finish an album I'm pretty much done listening to the recording of the songs on the album because I've listened to it so many times," he says. "But in the case of this one, I just keep on going back for more."
The parade of women doesn't hurt. Watch the exclusive premiere of 'Wicked Way' below.
