Beth Ditto Reveals Her Nerdy Side

Beth Ditto has graced magazine covers, feuded publicly with Katy Perry, worked with Rick Rubin and become one of the most quoted rockers on the scene. In spite of all this, the Gossip frontwoman insists she isn't a rock star. "I'm a big nerd," she tells Spinner. As to what makes her feel that way, she says for starters, she doesn't check out herself online, opting to search for scientific discoveries instead. "F--- that. No way, I'm not gonna Google myself," she says. "[But] I Google mysteries often."

For example? "You can YouTube this, the prehistoric shark they found in 2007 off the coast of Japan, amazing. Just Google that. It'll blow your f---ing mind," she says. "That's what I do. Sorry if you're disappointed."

We're actually not disappointed but Ditto admits other members of the press have had their illusions shattered. "I was talking to this other lady on the phone and I was like, 'Man, I just woke up. I'm sorry,'" she recalls. "And she was like, 'Cool, what were you doing?' 'I was watching that show 'How Clean is Your House?' until five AM.' She was like, 'You just burst my bubble of what I thought people in bands did.' I will continually burst that bubble."

Don't worry, Beth. You're still a rock star to us.
