Little Boots Is Hooked on 'Twilight'

Little Boots made an impression on Stateside audiences earlier this year with a string of dates around SXSW. She'll return for a follow-up jaunt in September and when the Northern Brit does, she'll have the experience of having made it through 33 festival appearances this summer. "It's pretty fun, really," she tells Spinner during a brief break from the festival circuit. "It's not that bad. We've probably done about 10 or 12. In Australia, there's like five but they're all across the same festival."The singer, who released her 'Illuminations' EP in June, has found her live show expand over recent months, adding a host of set decorations that accentuate her electro-tinged pop. "We've got like these mountains made of fake crystal. We've got these like, glass mirror shard things that look like they're part of some scenery," she explains. "We've got some fun stuff but I want to get more."
Ideally, Boots, aka Victoria Hesketh, would like to add fiberglass wolves into her stage show but so far the fake beasts have been out of reach. "It was a dream that never happened I'm afraid. We can only really get them in America and they're always out of stock," she sighs. "We might build some out of wood or something instead."
In the meantime, Hesketh can take pride in the diversity she brings to the stage with her varying performance outfits. "I've never liked to wear the same thing twice," she says of her various performance looks. "I've got a lot of cool stuff made for me for festivals, like one off things that no one else will have. I've been trying to keep it different and change it up."
While her looks are rotating, her reading material for the last couple of weeks has been pretty standard as Hesketh admits she's hooked on the 'Twilight Saga.' "I just got really into the books. I just got really addicted," she said in defense of her current reading habit. "I don't think the third one's as good, but it's alright, I'm still addicted. I'm like a teenager again. It's like you can see what it's doing to you but you don't care. You just get hooked."
