The reunited Jane's Addiction, featuring all four original members, have only two gigs left on the books -- this weekend at Lollapalooza and an appearance Halloween weekend at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Fest. But lead singer Perry Farrell isn't worried about the band's future. "We got along," he tells Spinner. "We found a way to find respect for each other. We'd go out there and we'd kick ass and people leave happy and so everybody wins and it's a good situation."While no plans are set in stone, Farrell, who says of any future Jane's work, "I'm in, you can count me in," knows what he wants to happen. "I'd like to see us go way back to the days when we were actually rehearsing, when we had day jobs and had to find time to rehearse two or three nights a week and just start writing material," he says. "That would make me very happy."
Farrell is already getting one wish granted as he, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery return to the Lolla stage he helped create for the first time since 1991. "When we joined back up early in the year, we went into meetings and had discussions on what we expected out of this," he recalls. "But when we went around the room and talked about our dreams and aspirations, what came out of my mouth was, 'What I see for us is returning to Lollapalooza and picking up where we left off in 1991, when that party was the party of 1991. I want to make this one the party of 2009.'"
And now that the fest is imminent and the band is ready to take the stage, Farrell has a promise for any fans that will be at Lolla Sunday night. "Jane's is going to put on is a show that we've been waiting 18 years to pull off," he says.
