It was only this past March that Prince released three new albums -- 'Lotusflow3r,' 'MPLSound' and 'Elixir,' the latter being the debut album from his protégé Bria Valente -- exclusively through Target for the recession-friendly price of $11.98. Now, the Purple One is offering to help cash-strapped fans once again by helping them purchase his $2,100 '21 Nights' deluxe book and iPod package with two payment plan options. There are 950 copies available of the '21 Nights' set, which commemorates his 21-show residency at London's O2 arena in 2007. The opus includes a 280-page book, a 40-minute documentary and a live version of the 'Indigo Nights' soundtrack loaded on the first purple iPod Touch. The Minneapolis native has schemed up a way to make the set more affordable to his fans in the UK thanks to two payment plans; Option one offers the opus with no interest over 12 months, while the second lets you pay it off over two years at a 9.7 percent APR. On top of that, each purchaser, no matter what country, will be eligible to win $21,000.
On the bright side, at least the hefty '21 Nights' (the book alone weighs nearly 40 pounds) comes without a delivery fee. And if you are one of the lucky ones rollin' in the dough, take a crack at the 'Number One Edition,' a leather-bound masterpiece encrusted with five rare purple diamonds and 21 round brilliant-cut diamonds to be auctioned off after it tours 12 major cities. We doubt there will be a payment plan for that one.
