A man walks into a bank, slips the blue-eyed teller a note and an empty bag. After reading it, she discreetly hands him a couple wads of cash and they tap dance their way out to safety. No, this isn't a Gene Kelly musical -- it's the premise for She and Him's ''Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?' alternate music video that premiered this morning at USA Today.

Zooey Deschanel, the actress/vocal half of the indie rock duo, which also features M. Ward, teamed up with her '500 Days of Summer' co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Marc Webb for this new bank heist short promoting the film's Friday release.

The original video for the track, off She and Him's debut album, 'Volume One,' was released over a year ago. While this particular tune -- and its accompanying dance number -- doesn't appear on the movie's soundtrack, She and Him's cover of the Smiths' 'Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want 'does.
