Sigur Ros Frontman Shows Off His Cooking Skills

Last month marked the release of 'Riceboy Sleeps,' the debut album from Sigur Ros frontman Jónsi Birgisson and his boyfriend Alex Somers. But before the pair picked up the instruments, Jonsi and Alex hammered away with kitchen utensils and penned the 'Good Heart Recipe Book.' Initially intended as a gift for about 50 friends and family during the 2007 holidays, the cookbook has been released digitally on their official website.

Among the 18 "easy and simple to make" recipes that "gather fresh and beautiful ingredients," are Thai Coconut Curry, Noodle Rainbow Miso Soup, Pistachio Pate, the Best Chocolate Milk and Macadamia Monster Mash. As if a PDF downloadable copy for fans wasn't enough, the pair got all 'Iron Chef' and filmed a cooking tutorial for the Macadamia Monster Mash recipe. "We are always dabbling with food," Jonsi told Iceland's Visir.is, "and we thought it might be fun to do our own show."

Can't get enough? "There are more shows on the way." Jonsi assures. "We have already recorded four short segments. It is a lot of fun to do something else than music."
