Kid Rock Gives Beaten Pizza Delivery Guy $1,500

Kid Rock just keeps making it harder and harder for people to dislike him. The Detroit rocker has come to the aid of a pizza delivery man who was robbed and beaten last month. Rock, who read about the brutal attack of a Harrison, Ohio Papa John's employee while in the Cincinnati area for a performance at the Riverbend Music Center on July 22, sent the victim, Harry Colyer, a check for $1,500.

"I didn't expect it and I didn't ask for it but it was certainly a very nice thing to do," Colyer told the Cincinnati Enquirer yesterday about the pleasant surprise waiting in his mailbox when he was released from the hospital. Colyer -- a 28-year-old nursing student who was nearly killed according to the report -- had undergone reconstructive surgery on his face and still has a hole in his neck where doctors inserted a breathing tube during the operation.

Kid Rock, aka Robert James Ritchie, declined to comment on the donation via his label publicist, who claims that Kid regularly participates in acts of kindness just to help those in need, not for the press. Colyer said he has never really listened to Kid Rock's music, but his 63-year-old mother said she's been a fan since she saw him perform with 1950s rock 'n' roll singer and pianist Jerry Lee Lewis on television some years ago.

Maybe someone can let Fred Durst know that rap-rockers can benefit society?

Kid is very gracious. I went to his concert in Portland and I must say...he was fabulous! (he thanked everyone for paying our hard earned money for the tickets"I would have paid double..") I have seen Elton John, Roy Orbison, and other fantastic performers and he's right up there with them if not above. I'd crawl on the back of a Harley with him any day~LOL

that was such a cool thing for kid rock to do for that guy! and for him to not even comment on it for publicity was even cooler,we need more celebrities like him cause most of em are selfish when it comes to incidents like this one, i hope that guy gets better, what a messed up thing for someone to go through.
