Day One of Lollapalooza marked the third time Kings of Leon have taken one of the festival's stages, but the first time as headliners. Throughout the show, singer/guitarist Caleb Followill seemed both humbled and excited by the band's newfound following."I remember when we would come out," Followill said of an earlier stint at Lollapalooza. "We'd see ten people and they would see us dressed up and with our mustaches and leave. Thank you for making us feel like a much bigger band than we are," Followill continued to an estimated crowd of more than 100,000.
But as the crows grow along with KOL's chart placement, particularly with the single 'Sex on Fire,' some are claiming sell out. Followill is unfazed by this. "I know a lot of fans have lost faith in Kings of Leon," he addressed, "but f--- it, we're just having a good time."
