No Age Perform Despite Injury at Lollapalooza

After playing their first song on Day Two at Lollapalooza, Los Angeles duo No Age took a moment to address the reason guitarist Randy Randall had a brace on his arm. "Randy Randall dislocated his shoulder last night and was rushed to the ER," drummer Dean Allen Spunt remarked. "He's decided to play anyway." Randall took the injury in stride asking the crowd, "Is anyone on as much Vicodin as I am?" The gregarious Randall explained he once dislocated his right shoulder in high school during a freak skateboarding accident (he even had to wear the brace for his yearbook photo) but this time he hurt his left shoulder. "This brings back memories, so thanks for that." Being a trooper, Randall helped Spunt rail through songs old and new. The small but robust crowd threw their hands in the air and headbanged along while Bradford Cox of Deerhunter and Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio looked on from backstage. Adebimpe photographed the guys and later gave them a shout during his own set.
At one point Randall took off his jacket to reveal more of his brace: "Embrace the brace," Spunt repeated a few times. And that's exactly what the band did.
