Potent Quotables: Tina's a Natural Beauty
- Posted on Aug 12th 2009 1:00PM by Adam Horne

"I don't use special creams or treatments ... I believe that a lot of how you look has to do with how you feel about yourself." --Tina Turner
The legend doesn't see the need for beauty products, adding that "happiness is the greatest beauty secret." Of course, it's easy to say that when you're still smokin' hot at 69.

Everyone shows some form of racist actions at some point in their lives. Why insist that you are the only non racist individual in the world. Think back to when you were kids, post 60's. How did you interact with those of the opposing race. What has changed since then?
Whites disgraced themselves early in our countries development. By thinking they were superior. Blacks discrace themselves now by their ignorant comments and actions. Because Obama is black, does not make him a savior. He is already falling out of favor, and yes I voted for him. He was the better option at the time. But, listen to a black person, he's the greatest hope ever. There is a long road to haul. And that stretch of road has no end in sight. We'll only continue to grow our hatred, plant those seeds and pass them on to our children. It does not matter your skin color, we all are racist in our own right. Deny all you want, profess you are sin free. It is something you can never prove. BLACK and PROUD proves my point. I see several black women on TV and in movies. There is this one woman named Oprah to start. She endorses several things, and is just as racist as the next person. She puts on a good act in front of the television cameras. Catch her when she does not know they are rolling.
Lauren Hill "I'd rather have my baby die then have a white person buy my record" There is a true black role model for you. You don't see as many blacks in the public eye. Try looking in a mirror and really ask yourself why that is. Blacks don't help their image, with their everyday actions.
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW IAM AN R.N. FOR A PLACTIC SURGEON AND BLACKS DO CRACK!

MelaninmÄl'ÉnÄn, water-insoluble polymer of various compounds derived from the amino acid tyrosine. It is one of two pigments found in human skin and hair and adds brown to skin color; the other pigment is carotene, which contributes yellow coloring. The synthesis of melanin reactions is catalyzed by the enzyme tyrosinase; an inherited lack of tyrosinase activity results in one of the forms of albinism. Tyrosinase is found in only one specialized type of cell, the melanocyte, and in this cell melanin is found in membrane-bound bodies called melanosomes. Melanosomes can be transferred from their site of synthesis in the melanocytes to other cell types. The various hues and degrees of pigmentation found in the skin of human beings are directly related to the number, size, and distribution of melanosomes within the melanocytes and other cells. Besides it role in pigmentation, melanin, which absorbs ultraviolet light, plays a protective role when skin is exposed to the damaging rays of the sun (see sunburn; skin cancer).

Here's food for thought....Science is in the process of proving that all humans trace back to the original pair. It is "relative" history, ( I couldn't help myself.) Seriously, I find it amazing that we are a human family and carry the same genes. So, let us decide if we want to be intelligent beings caring for one another, or bigoted idiots!

Same goes for if the foods a person eats, if they do alcohol in excess, or drugs all will cause problems with skin.
