Kate Earl Takes Back Alaska

When there's an Alaskan in the room, it's pretty hard not to ask what they think of Sarah Palin. So, when rising singer Kate Earl stopped by the Spinner offices, we couldn't help but bring up the now ex-governor. "She really trashed my state!" the Anchorage native told us. Once listeners hear her soulful voice, jazzy instrumentals and catchy hooks, though, Earl's music is bound to help her repair the image of the 49th state.

After she let us hear snippets from her self-titled debut album, which is out now, Earl gave us a live, acoustic taste of her music. She performed an intimate take of her song 'Nobody' then decided to pay her tribute to the recently-deceased King of Pop, though in an unconventional way. "When I first learned to play this song, I thought Michael Jackson wrote it," she said, referring to Smokey Robinson's 'Who's Lovin' You.' The song, famously covered by the Jackson 5, was a perfect showcase of Earl's talents: with the stripped down sounds of an acoustic guitar, her powerful voice took center stage, evoking the heartbreak of Robinson's lyrics and reminding us that there are big things in store for this Alaska native.

I was e-mailed this link by the director of the agency that found this new artist. The same one who found my son. The point of looking into it was to see the new artist and hear her music. As it is I loved her song, thought she had a great voice and alot of talent. So she was ask for her opinion and she gave it. I read most of the comments on here and all of you have been giving your opinion although I don't recall any of you being ask what it is. As I was reading the hypocritical comments I wondered to myself if many of you are even old enough to vote. I haven't seen this kind if back and forth nonsense since Jr. High. The point of Kate being here was to promote her music and talk about her new CD. It just so happen that she was ask about Palin and they printed it. If she is releasing a new CD and making Videos,I doubt she has much time to think about anything else. All of you who are saying you won't buy her music because she thinks differently than you do are just making yourselves sound like a bunch of jaded children. You speak of her being jealous as the cause of her opinion. I highly doubt that even went through her mind. However I can say that many of you need to look at yourselves, ask yourself what the real reason is that you say she has no talent. I don't know much about polotics, but what I do know is that Sarah Palin is not spending her free time defending your good name. She doesn't even know who you people are. Yet you spend hours on here arguing like she is your best friend. My point is only that this girl Kate does infact have talent and I wish her the best of luck.

Sarah Palin has more class and strength in her little finger than this superficial, peripheral egotist could ever hope to have.

Most of these comments about Sarah Palin & those who like her are pretty unkind. When I read these comment panels it reminds me why our country is falling apart - why not use restraint & civility with those who disagree with us?

Obama never went to Harvard-----??? I can only surmise that you are also a "Birther" and a "Death Panel" believer, which makes you either a fool whose taken the bait, or a person who spreads these lies. It is the lowest form of winning a debate when you cannot do so on the merits of your argument.

I know that 90% plus of the MSM (TV, newspapers, magazines, etc. ) have a visceral hatred of this conservative women and it just kills them to attempt anything to attempt to degrade her. Just reveals how much y'all fear her !!! As for the entertainers, keep with your minmal artistic skills and leave the thinking to folks that really know and understand what really is going on in the real world. Clowns, such as this pathetic singer, should stay out of sight when it comes to their pontification of BS ... Amazing how a few paragraphs on Palin's Facebook page was enough to defeat the entire Obama juggernaut with the aid of all the media in his pocket and defeat a large and dangerous portion of the Obamacare bill. No wonder y'all hate her, she by herself kicked the crap out of the sycopantic Obama media and the democratic "nuts" in both branches of the legislature and the Whitehouse as well .... Take a deep breath, because she is going to continue to kick your butts !!! LOL on your loses with the public ...

Your Okay

I am no big fan of Sarah Palin, but what the hell has the woman done? The pack-of-dog mentality has jumped on her from Day One, why? I guess she didnt go to Harvard, but neither did Obama. Maybe she should have lied and said she did, as he does. I'll take an honest community college graduate over a compulsive liar alleged Harvard graduate ANY day. If this singer said something good about Palin, or bad about obama, the article would NEVER be printed. America is waking up.

Well if Palin was so bad because she was only in office for one term and obviously according to some people that she wasn't experienced what about Obama? He knows virtualy nothing about what he is even doing. He doesn't come up with all these ideas that keep sprouting up then getting shot down, other are.He is nothing more than a puppet in a puppet regime right now, thats what those who actually bought his many lines of BS while running got

I don't have any problem with her opinion. I do have a problem with the kind of gut-level hatred of Sarah Palin that's so common. Especially because it typically comes from the same left-wing corners that used to tout the virtues of tolerance & respectful dialogue between people of differing view-points. Sarah Palin, if she did nothing else, showed that when it comes to high ideals the left can talk a good game, but there's very little substance to back up the talk.
