Only One Song Remains a Mystery for 'The Beatles: Rock Band'
- Posted on Aug 18th 2009 10:20AM by Dan Reilly
Sit tight, Beatles fans -- the track list for 'The Beatles: Rock Band' is nearly complete. The game's makers, MTV Games and Harmonix, announced 19 more of the Fab Four's songs that will be featured in the game, bringing the total to 44.The tunes come from all parts of the band's career, with hits including 'A Hard Day's Night,' 'Ticket to Ride,' 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,' 'Helter Sketler,' 'Come Together,' and a favorite of many guitarists, the George Harrison classic 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps,' featuring Eric Clapton on lead. As the creators previously revealed, the song 'All You Need Is Love' and the entire 'Abbey Road' album will be available for download when the game is released Sept. 9, with more albums to follow.
Now that leaves the one burning question about the hotly-anticipated game -- what's the remaining song?
Could it be an early hit like 'She Loves You' and 'Help!' or a later gem like 'Strawberry Fields Forever,' 'Penny Lane' or 'Let It Be'? With the inclusion of the 'Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows' remix, the creators have already proven there will be sitar, so 'Norwegian Wood' is a good possibility. Or would an epic milestone be the way to go out? See: 'Hey Jude' or the 'Abbey Road' finale, 'The End,' with its triple guitar solos. You tell us.

It would be nice if they could add "Eleanor Rigby/Julia" but there is no guitar play in that song.

September 01 2009 at 9:08 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replymyself i can't wait till it comes out. Guess I'm stuck playing Guitar Hero 5 till it gets here.Sorry GH but RockBand's gotcha beat, Guitars that don't require the in's and out's of a WII remote and are alot quieter you don't get that clink everytime you strum the guitar you can actually hear the words to the songs without the annoying CLUNK! Wow!Rock Band's actually spoiled me with their quiet guitars, alot more enjoyable game play.

August 27 2009 at 6:02 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI think the end of Abbet Road would be GREAT but who could possible pick one of all their GREAT songs.
August 22 2009 at 10:38 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySee that's the problem you can't possibly pick one great song because they're all great songs. I can only imagine how much cash flow Rock Band and the clan's are going to bring in on DLC on their Album releases. 2 bucks a pop for a song OR possibly more because of their name?! Wow! OUCH that's certainly going to hurt the wallet!

August 18 2009 at 12:53 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replywell i wouldn't consider free as a bird or real love beatles songs. they were written by john lennon and were rough takes of what the songs would sound like for his next solo album. i consider anything written before the beatles offically broke up after the get back sessions.

August 18 2009 at 12:07 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyExactly. With a limited catalog, theres not much they could put on there that hasnt been speculated on before, except a song that hasnt been released! Why else would they keep it a secret?
August 18 2009 at 1:17 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI can't possibly choose between 'Hey Jude' and 'Let It Be,' damn it.
