How many roads must a man drive down, before you can call him a man? The answer, my friends, may soon be brought to you in the rasping tones of Bob Dylan -- via your car's SatNav system.Dylan has announced that he is in talks with two car manufacturers to be the voice of their in-car GPS. The 68-year-old gave listeners of his Theme Time Radio Hour on BBC 6 Music on Monday a sneak preview of what the Dylan-accented GPS might sound like.
"Left at the next street," he said. "No, right. You know what? Just go straight. I probably shouldn't do it because whichever way I go, I always end up at one place -- on Lonely Avenue. Luckily I'm not totally alone. Ray Charles beat me there."
The reclusive singer, who rarely gives interviews, admitted a Dylan GPS went against his usual desire not to make his whereabouts public. Several websites offer impersonations of celebrity voices for GPS, the UK's Daily Telegraph reported, with Sean Connery, Ozzy Osbourne and David Hasselhoff among the most popular.
Whether Dylan's SatNav will constantly take drivers on to Highway 61 or offer a shortcut to Desolation Row remains to be seen.

Have you seen the site called Navtones? They do loads of real celebrity voices for GPS. They have Mr. T, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds, just to name a few. They have the real HOFF coming too. On Hasselhoff's website there is footage of him in the studio recording his GPS voice. You should check Navtones out, I'm sure this is where Dylan will end up.

If you have a TomTom device, there's a cool site called BoomRoom -- www.boomroom.com -- that has a bunch of funny voices. They claim to be releasing iPhone and Garmin support soon as well!
