The Arctic Monkeys may have some heavyweight support for their London gig at the Brixton Academy on Wednesday night.Supergroup Them Crooked Vultures -- featuring Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones -- are expected to support the Sheffield band at the London gig, which is ahead of headline slots at the Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend.
It would be the band's first gig on UK soil, following a show in Chicago earlier this month. Josh Homme is also playing Reading and Leeds with another of his bands, Eagles of Death Metal. Homme manned the production desk for the Arctic Monkeys' new album 'Humbug' which was released this week.
Them Crooked Vultures played their second gig at Melkweg in Amsterdam, the Netherland, last week, and also played surprise sets at Lowlands festival and Pukkelpop in Belgium. With Homme set to play Reading and Leeds, could his side project be planning a surprise set there? Let the speculation begin.
