Grizzly Bear Celebrate Birthday at Virgin Festival Ontario

Grizzly Bear bassist Chris Taylor spent his 28th birthday on the Molson Amphitheatre stage at Toronto's waterfront as the group brought their brand of lush harmonic indie-rock to the first day of Virgin Festival Ontario."Today is Chris Taylor's birthday and the sun came out. Those are two positive things," crowed lead singer Ed Droste, happy that the morning rains had subsided just as they took the stage.
"Not to much time for chat," he added and got down to business performing for the small but dedicated crowd who made the trek down to the relocated festival in time to catch the Brooklyn band's early afternoon slot.
Playing a set that included highlights like 'The Knife' and 'Two Weeks,' the band seemed in generally good spirits, with Droste joking that he really just "wants to play hacky sack," as well as giving frequent props to the night's co-headliner, the Pixies.
