Pete Doherty Confesses to Drunken Suicide Attempt

Troubled rocker Pete Doherty has confessed that he tried to commit suicide earlier this year in Paris. The Babyshambles frontman reveals that he tried to throw himself off a building back in March after he got totally wasted while celebrating his 30th birthday.

"I had this bash in Paris and it was an absolute disgrace," Doherty told Elle magazine. "I just made a bit of an idiot out of myself. We had a right old knees-up. I don't even know exactly what happened but I ended up trying to throw myself off the top of the hotel. I wasn't happy at all about being 30."

"I don't normally drink that heavily," the one-time Libertines frontman explained. "But I went through a bottle of vodka. They presented me with this cake and I pushed it in the chef's face who'd just made it for me."

In addition to such a painful admission, Doherty -- who is set to perform 'Human Nature' at a Michael Jackson tribute concert hosted by David Gest in London on October 14th -- also took time during the interview to reiterate his previously announced plans to get the Libertines back together. What a jerk you are. My brother committed suicide. You have no idea what these people go through. Instead of making loser comments why don't you try some sympathy. I hope to God nothing bad ever happens to anyone you know - because they'd be sure not to get any sympthay from you. Again, you are such a jerk.

I was a senior in High School when this loser was born. 50 will be here before I know it,but I'm not got going to try to throw myself off of top of a building. I don't think this kid will have to worry about 50 staring him down. He most likely won't see 35.

How do you try to throw yourself off a building? Either you do or you don't. If its a one story house maybe you do die. But a hotel? Thats pretty easy. Just jump. What can be so hard about that? Sounds like he f'ed that up too. Loser

How do you fail at throwing yourself off a building. This sounds like he made that part up to make himself sound more dark. What a waste.

He doesn't normally drink much? Yeah right. Only a chronic alcoholic could drink a whole bottle of vodka and remain conscious. Not to mention keep it down. I agree with whoever said his whole life is a suicide attempt. I'd rather have Michael Hutchence back. I wish they could trade places. I won't be surprised to read Pete's obit.
