Volcano Choir Keep Their Future 'Unmapped'

Not to get ahead of themselves, but Volcano Choir is contemplating the possibility of going on their first tour ever next year and, more concretely, are already laying the groundwork for their next album. The thing is, their first album hasn't even dropped yet -- 'Unmap' won't hit stores until Sept. 22. No matter. When your band is fronted by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and backed by Collections of Colonies of Bees, you've got the entire indie blogosphere on your side to make sure you hit the ground running. "None of this has even been performed together live, due to how we ended up recording it," project supervisor -- and elder Bee -- Chris Rosenau tells Spinner. "It'll be challenging arranging these songs so we can actually perform them, but I imagine much of the excitement that happened while initially recording them will happen again."
Rosenau says that given everyone's schedules, there's no chance of touring on the heels of the album release. By next year, however, they hope to have their live act together for at least some shows. "As far as more recording: 100 percent," Rosenau says. "The project is solely about us challenging each other creatively and having fun. We're going to hang out again very soon, and when we do, there will be more Volcano Choir songs."
Good for you guys. Now, run along while we get through these first nine songs.
