Great Lake Swimmers, 'Still' -- Video Premiere
- Posted on Sep 11th 2009 11:30AM by Scott Tomford
There's something about the folk rock of Great Lake Swimmers that evokes a quiet, meaningful night spent with friends, so the concept for band's new video is a bit of a no-brainer. 'Still,' off this year's Polaris Prize-nominated 'Lost Channels,' is an intimate acoustic ditty about the things you're doing in life, whether it's "searching for whispers in between yells" or "swimming in harmony."The video's aesthetic manages to capture this sense of hope and youthful whimsy, with friends and fans huddled together, laughing and smiling as the band performs its song in a Toronto living room. Director Scott Cudmore even shows the video's actual setup, adding to what's already a charmingly lo-fi production. Check out the party with Great Lake Swimmers and a few of their friends in the video below.

Awesome work again Scotty. Cudos to Mike Leblanc (michaelleblanc.ca) the cinematographer for helping you make the video a reality.

Is it possible to make a hybrid of a LaBlogotheque Take Away Show and a Dashboard Confessional sob session from circa 2001?
