Glasvegas, 'It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry' -- Video Premiere

When he's not dropping off the face of the earth for a few days, Glasvegas frontman James Allan seems to spend a lot of time feeling guilty. The video for 'It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry,' a power ballad off the band's excellent self-titled debut, finds Allan in a studio, attempting to be interviewed, though he's a bit too torn over wronging a lovely young lady we see in home video footage. Check out the exclusive video premiere after the jump and see if you can't help but feel bad for the poor guy who gets his broadcast ruined.

Amazing Song, sounds slightly odd with the altered cleaner lyrics

Great song - even with the cleaned up lyrics. Video suits the song.

As has been said, it seems odd with the turned lyrics but I don't think it vastly takes away from the song. Strong video and I hope it goes down well in the States.

I like the video concept and execution but I always hate it when bands just use the front man to represent them.

Massive Glasvegas fan, but to be honest this video wasn't very good. The (excellent) song seems a bit watered down, the clean-up (just about forgivable) isn't very tidy and why are the rest of the band only in one shot? I know from Flowers and Football Tops that they can do better.

I hate that they've 'cleaned' the lyrics... don't sell out your integrity just for the US market guys!

Changing the lyrics changes the poetic nature and integrity of the song.. saying 'i think my missus has FLUNG every guy she looks at" is poetry (it means had a fling with) replacing it with 'screwed' is just cut and dry. boring.

Jemas looks pretty joe handsome in it tho. now, if it can stop doing things that make him feel guilty.

Its not FLUNG it's Fucking every guy that she looks at.

shows you how much I know. I'm the poet then. Should of used FLUNG instead of screwed. Screwed still sounds shit.

any odd, all n' all, i much prefer the original with all the lines and arrangement.

    no biggie.

Great song and video. James is hot so it's okay that he is in most of the video. To Carrie Ann it's actually "I think my missus is fucking every guy that she looks at" so they kind of have to change it.

In fairness to the band this is the first time we've seen mainly James representing the band. Most of the interviews I've watched and read are with the others - he tends to keep to the background.

Screwing every guy that she loooks at? Come on to fuck guys! Who in Glesga says screwing? Selling out for the nation that gave a song called fuck tha police? Where's the logic?

The song does not need altered in any way, shape or form. I'm very dissapionted in the final "U.S" version and they can keep it in the U.S. Keep your soul guys, thats what makes you so good.

I think I would like to see just a live vid of the band with James singing from his heart like I just saw him do at Nassau Coliseum in New York, here the song is changed and loses something. It is an amazing song.

Great show in New York, I'm from the U.S. obviously and love the lyrics the way they are, I was hoping they wouldn't censor at the show and they didn't, love you Glasvegas, sweet James kills

nowhere near the raw passion of album version, better than most but not up to Glasvegas standards;still, genius combined with polished toss is still better then polished toss alone.Fuck sales,be yourselves and no more of this radio-friendly fuckery;see Mark E Smith for integrity and going it alone, that man still has soul and he gets his bills paid. Can't help but feel saddened by this luke-warm offering. You could have had it all.
