Bob Dylan's prowess as a painter -- rather than as a lyricist, poet, musician and songwriter -- is to be recognised next year with a massive exhibition in the National gallery in Denmark.

The show will feature more than 100 artworks from Dylan, including 30 pieces which have not been seen in public before. The show will open at the gallery, based in the capital Copenhagen, in autumn 2010.

The gallery's chief curator, Kasper Monrad, said: "Bob Dylan's visual artistic practice has only been discussed by art historians to a limited extent, so critical examination and interpretation are called for."

The singer, 68, first started exhibiting his art in 2007 at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz museum in the small German city of Chemnitz.

He said: "I can take a bowl of fruit and turn it into a life-and-death drama. Women are power figures so I depict them that way."

Dylan's exhibition will include artwork from the books 'Writings and Drawing' and 'Lyrics 1962-1985.'

Dylan is to release an album of Christmas music with all proceeds going to the charity Feeding America, which helps homeless families. The album will be released on Oct. 13.

The singer also recently admitted on his radio show he had been in talks with two car companies to voice their SatNav systems, Spinner reported.
