Some people can't help but geek out when they step into the Apple Store. Ladyhawke is no exception, and the electronic artist got in touch with her inner nerd when she performed at the downtown New York store last night. Right before launching into 'Dusk Till Dawn,' the singer had a technical snafu that interrupted her intimate show. "There must be tons of tech geeks in this building that can fix this," she said as a flurry of Apple employees puttered behind her onstage. "I really feel awkward right now," she added bashfully. However, the New Zealand native quickly rebounded and continued her set without further solicitations from the Genius Bar. The songstress was in town to perform with Ida Maria, Semi Precious Weapons and Frankmusik as part of the Perez Hilton Presents tour. Ladyhawke played songs off her self-titled effort, a collection that evokes the sounds of both Ladytron and the Go-Gos, as people in the building shopped for laptops and gadgets.
Recorded as part of iTunes' 'Live From SoHo' series, the songwriter belted out her '80s-inspired synth-driven tunes behind a fringe of blonde hair. The singer -- otherwise known as Pip Brown -- stood behind a microphone covered with Christmas lights and was supported by a four-piece band decked in all-black attire. Ladyhawke included such tunes as 'Another Runaway,' 'Professional Suicide' and 'Back of the Van' during the brief in-store concert. Meanwhile, the audience bopped their heads and pumped their fists to album stunners 'This Is My Delirium' and 'Paris Is Burning' as she set the tiny second-floor stage on fire. Well, not literally.
