Foreigner Aren't Ready to 'Slow Down'

Foreigner's Kelly Hansen knows sometimes you've got to be careful what you wish for. He's not complaining, but joining the band in March 2005 set his world in a motion he had never experienced. "When they called me up and asked me to start rehearsing, I had all these realizations at the same time," he tells Spinner. "I knew that my life was going to change. I had been on the road before with Hurricane and I knew what that takes, and I knew you can't pick and choose the things you want to do, that they choose you when you're trying to make something happen. You have to give it all of your time and energy and I knew that was what I was going to be doing now."

While the band toured the world a couple of times over, building its base, they were also recording an album, 'Can't Slow Down,' which will be released September 29 as part of a special three-product collection along with a DVD of the band in concert and beyond, and another disc of 10 classic remixes. This package will be available at exclusively at Walmart for $12.

A lot of the record was written at the Benjamin Hotel in New York City since leader Mick Jones lives in New York and the rest of the band is in L.A., but it was also recorded there and wherever they ended up during a European tour (produced by Jones and Marti Frederiksen). "It was crazy being on the road and making a record. There just wasn't time to stop," Hansen says. "The demand for the band, live, became so enormous, that we've been constantly touring."
