Scott Weiland's Mid-Flight Seizure Forces Emergency Landing

Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland suffered a seizure Friday while flying from Los Angeles to Miami, reports TMZ.com. The former Velvet Revolver singer's illness forced the emergency landing of his American Airlines flight at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport so that he could be taken to a hospital.
Late Friday, a representative for Weiland who was on the flight told Rolling Stone that the plane's staff called for medical assistance over the loudspeaker system and wound up administering oxygen to the vocalist during the mild seizure. Weiland soon came to was reportedly "in good spirits" as he was transported to the hospital.
Weiland, who has a history of seizures, was taken for precautionary observation. The singer -- who has been in the studio with his STP bandmates and Don Was working on a comeback album -- was en route to Miami to help promote the launch of his new men's clothing line, Weiland for English Laundry.
