Miming Muse Get Their Own Back on Italian TV

Who said Muse don't have a sense of humour? While the conspiracy theory-obsessed Matt Bellamy does a very good impression of a po-faced prog rocker and their music is about as subtle as carpet bombing, the band have shown they're up for a laugh (as you can see after the jump).Appearing recently on an Italian TV programme -- the kind of unreconstructed show featuring a glamorous host and dancing girls -- Muse were apparently asked to mime to a backing track of their single 'Uprising' from new album 'The Resistance.'
Clearly peeved at having to lip-synch, the band cheekily decided to show up their host's lack of knowledge about the band by getting drummer Dom Howard to man the mic and guitar, and putting frontman Matt Bellamy on the drum kit, flailing away like a clockwork monkey.
Despite Bellamy's exaggerated gurning, the host seemed none the wiser, inviting Muse's singer (Howard apparently) for a chat about such subjects as living in Lake Como and ,err, George Clooney, translated into booming Italian by an interpreter.
Watch the footage and at about 4.45 you'll see bassist Chris Wolstenholme dissolve into laughter in the background as Howard gamely -- and straight-facedly -- answers the somewhat-clueless questions form their Italian inquisitor.
Muse, we salute you.
