Omo, 'Oversized' -- Video Premiere

For their video for 'Oversized,' Omo gave director Matilda Tristram very specific instructions: keep it "playful and fun." So, Tristam rounded up some friends to do playful and fun things with food items for the shoot. Here's the catch: the food items are playful and fun by themselves. There's a loaf of bread that cuts itself, a meatball that likes to jump rope and a cookie with an identity crisis. That's fun, right?

"We decided early on that a literal interpretation of the lyrics was not so important," Tristam tells Spinner. "It would have been too easy to just make a lots of big cakes and pies and oversized people."

So instead Tristam used Omo's video as an excuse to use some ideas that had been waiting in the wings, stringing them together in a treatment that mixes traditional stop-frame with live action. "I like to work with familiar objects and make them do peculiar things," she says. Lucky for her, that translates to "playful and fun."
