Every state seems to have its own punk rock legends. In Mississippi, it was Bonnington Truce leading the voice of rebellion. Formed in 1979, Bonnington Truce, a shaggy bunch who were proud to be part of the "unwanted generation," brought a fierce brand of Southern sound to their small, sleepy town that owed more to MC5 than Lynyrd Skynyrd. "We did not know punk existed," frontman Earl Lundy claims. Though it would be tough to tell from the band's performances in the early '80s, which punctuate the storyline of 'Bonnington Truce' -- a documentary following the rise, fall and eventual reformation of the rock troupe. In the film, you'll see them playing live, 25 years after they disbanded, because, as they put it, "we pretty much do what we want." And because they love the state Mississippi, which they call "the most Southern place on earth." You can check out the film free after the jump, courtesy of our friends at SnagFilms.
