When the members of Sunny Day Real Estate announced their reunion tour, no one could have predicted that the underground emo-band's gathering would have coincided with the fact that their song 'Seven,' from their 1994 debut release 'Diary,' was going to be included in the new 'Guitar Hero 5.' "I was surprised," bassist Nate Mendel tells Spinner. "I didn't know that we had passed that threshold into public consciousness. I can't wait to get a copy and play it! It is a really super-fun, ridiculous, funny thing to play one of your own songs in Guitar Hero. I've done it with Foo Fighters [his other band]. I think I was better at Kansas, though, that was where I shined."
Sunny Day frontman Jeremy Enigk shares the same bemused enthusiasm about the experience. "I was absolutely stoked when we were asked to put a song on there as I am a huge video game nerd," he says. "I have played the game and thought it was a blast. I think it will be funny to play my own song and completely suck at it."
To further prove their excitement, the band posted the following video on their Twitter feed. We'd say that avatars' rock posturing is bit different than what you'll see from the decidedly un-flashy band at their reunion shows.

since when has Nate Mendel been a 'former' member of the Foo Fighters?
