DJ AM's Death Ruled an Accidental Overdose

The New York medical examiner confirmed today that Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein died of an accidental overdose, according to TMZ. The toxicology report says that the 36-year-old had a deadly mixture of cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone (aka Vicodin), Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax and Benadryl in his system. The combination led to "acute intoxication."

Goldstein, one of Hollywood's most popular DJ's, was found dead in his New York City apartment on Aug. 28 along with a crack pipe and prescription pill bottles. Even with the large amount of substances and Goldstein's previous admission that he'd tried to kill himself, the medical examiner refused to label the death a suicide.

The cause of death confirmation comes on the heels of MTV's announcement to air Goldstein's drug-intervention reality show, 'So Far Gone.' Goldstein finished wrapping the series just three days before he overdosed.
