Radiohead's Thom Yorke has announced the line-up of the band that will play songs from his solo record 'The Eraser' on tour in the US next week. Yorke's bandmates in the shows at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theater on Oct. 4 and 5 will feature Beck's sometime-drummer Joey Waronker, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and percussionist Mauro Refosco. Oh, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea on bass...
Yes, the frequently-shirtless fret-fiddler Flea is manning one half of the rhythm department for Yorke, a frontman not usually noted for taking to the stage with a lightbulb on his head or just a sock to hide his modesty.
"In the past couple of weeks I've been getting a band together for fun to play the Eraser stuff live and the new songs ... to see if it could work!" Yorke wrote on Radiohead's Dead Air Space blog.
"We don't really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz ..well ...we haven't got that much material yet!"
Spinner would humbly suggest it doesn't matter if the band only play three songs and politely wave goodbye -- this is one line-up we really have to see with our own eyes. Truth really is stranger than fiction.
