Strokes Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. in Rehab

What began as a rumor about Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. checking into rehab appears to be true. The guitarist has reportedly entered a New York City clinic to seek treatment for substance abuse, prompting the band to suspend work on its long awaited fourth LP.

The Daily Mail claims Hammond delved into narcotics after he got in a fight with his girlfriend, model/singer Agyness Deyn. "Agy and Albert had a big row before she came to London for Fashion Week," a source told the paper. "He's really cut up and his band mates checked him into rehab last week."

Although the couple had been living at Hammond's upstate New York farmhouse since reconciling after a March breakup, things don't look good for their future, if the source is to be believed. "It's hard for Agy to deal with Albert when he's like this and she's planning to stay in London while he sorts himself out," the paper's insider added. "Otherwise she will move on."

During her tour of Fashion Week, Deyn appeared to have already done that. She was seen out with another rocker, former flame Miles Kane of the British indie outfit the Last Shadow Puppets.
