2009 CMJ Lineup Led by Evan Dando
The full lineup for this year's CMJ Music Marathon has been announced and, as usual, it features a diverse group of acts. Major acts include Evan Dando, Ted Leo, School of Seven Bells, Busta Rhymes, Pitbull and Superdrag. Fans of any genre will be able to find something worth checking out among acts like Wu-Tang Clan's U-God, country up-and-comers the Zac Brown Band, TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone and his Rain Machine solo project, comedian Margaret Cho and reggae musician Julian Marley. Other notable acts include Hockey, Alec Ounsworth, Saul Williams, Yacht, Deer Tick, Japandroids, the XX and Crystal Antlers.
The five-day music and film festival will take place in New York City form Oct. 20 to Oct. 24. More than 1,200 artists will play at over 75 clubs and venues all over the city. Featuring local NYC acts and international artists, the 29-year-old festival has featured many big names in the past including Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Echo and the Bunnymen, Johnny Cash, Cheap Trick and Rage Against the Machine.
