Jay-Z Wants to Work With Liam Gallagher

While Jay-Z may have briefly had beef with Oasis' Noel Gallagher over the latter's comments about hip-hop at Glastonbury, it seems the Gallagher clan are not guilty by association.

The rapper has told the British press he wants to work with Gallagher's younger brother Liam, after reports that Snoop Dogg wanted to sign Gallagher senior to his label Priority Records.

"I hear Snoop Dogg might be teaming up with Noel. If that's the case then I would love to work with Liam," Jay-Z told the Sun newspaper. "Their [Oasis'] music is tight and I think we could blend our styles well."

Jay-Z has already done a rock/rap crossover album with Linkin Park in 2004 ('Collision Course') and toured with the band aswell.
"When I teamed up with Linkin Park nobody expected that to work but we made a massive success of it," he said. "The same could happen with Liam."

According to the Sun, Jay-Z added: "When you have two artists like us in a room just throwing about ideas you come up with something brilliant fairly easily. I don't know what he is up to now but he can give me a call."

    Noel will be pleased.

It's bad enough already that Oasis have split up. Should either of the brothers get invoved with rubbish like that they may lose their credibility forever.

Go and watch Jay-Z in concert, educate yourself, and then say he's rubbish. He is an awesome artist. Having also seen Oasis in concert I know which was better, and it sure wasn't Oasis. He's married to Beyonce & worth $500M, so he's clearly doing something "credible" - hardly what you'd call rubbish. Idiot!

For the sake of us all, will somebody please lock Liam and Noel in a room together and not let them out until they have either beat 10 bells out of each other or sorted out their problems and got back together. Whatever it takes to stop stupid ideas like this from ever being talked about ever again.
Rap is not my thing, I don't see the talent in swearing to the beat of a drum machine.

I dunno this might work, Noel played guitar on a Drum'n'Bass record with Goldie [Temper Temper] so why wouldn't Liam singing on an R&B record go down well?

I can't believe people would be so naive as to think these 2 could not possibly make a hit song. I think Liam has shown he can definitely sing a great hook and he's got lots of presence. Jay-Z knows the hip-hop game inside out and i'm sure they would bring an energy that few out there could compete with right now. Music transcends B.S. and when 2 forces collide you generally get an explosion, or in this case, whatever they come up with would be a hit. Do not underestimate Jay-Z simply because he is a rapper. In fact he's not the greatest rapper you will ever hear but he does know about music and he commercial mastro, he knows how to make hit songs - over $500 million dollars! Come on!! This guy would put Liam into the Stratosphere, don't forget, OAsis never quite cracked the US did they! Well Jay-Z has cracked it everywhere.
