After tickets for Glastonbury went on sale -- and subsequently sold out -- on Sunday, speculation has already begun as to which big names will be topping the festival in 2010.Bookmakers haven't been slow in coming up with suggestions, with high-street staple William Hill claiming the Rolling Stones are favourites to play the Pyramid Stage for the festival's 40th anniversary. They are offering odds of 4/1.
"We have lost a few quid on the headline act for two years running and it will be interesting to see if punters get it right again," William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams said.
Coldplay and David Bowie are the second most likely, the bookmakers say, with odds offered at 8/1.
Oasis, whose future is in doubt after Noel Gallagher walked out of the band in August after arguments with brother Liam, are at 33/1.
"Right now the brothers may feel that the split is irreconcilable but in the cold light of day they may change their mind and Glastonbury would be the perfect place for a triumphant return," Adams said.
Other odds offered are Muse at 10/1, U2 and Arctic Monkeys at 12/1 and Radiohead at 14/1.
All of the tickets were sold without any details of the festival's headliners -- or any of the other household names likely to be playing -- being divulged.
