Jay Reatard's Band Walk Out on Tour

Jay Reatard's band have walked out midway through a US tour, causing their former frontman to give them a tongue-lashing via Twitter.

"Band quit! F--- them! They are boring rich kids who can't play for s--- anyways," the singer wrote on his Twitter feed. "Say hello to your ugly and boring wifes, opps I mean life guys, suck it." [sic]

The band's walkout means Reatard's North American tour -- as well as forthcoming visits to the UK, Ireland and Europe – are now in doubt.

Reatard later told NME, "I honestly love those guys no matter what my dumb Twitter post says. They kinda quit out of nowhere, me and the tour manager thought it was a joke!"

He also told the site he was already looking for replacement band members, saying: ""All the bulls*** aside our band is a really easy one to be in - Ride in the van listen to jams, load in gear, eat great food, drink free beer, get paid well, load out, go to the hotel, repeat."

No reason has yet been given why Reatard's band decided to walk out.

Publicity stunt. A marginal talent most people have never heard of, so this is a way of getting attention. His PR people are smart.

Who in the heck is Jay Reatard? Never heard of him and once is enough. Must be an idiot if his band walked out on him. Now go start playing at the local bars, doubt that they like your music though.

To suggest that this band sucks would be overrating them. Perhaps the sidemen quit in hopes that no one would ever remember they played this crap.
