Between their intimate live shows and personal lyrics, Tegan and Sara have never held much back. Now, the Quin twins are offering an even more in-depth look into their lives with 'On, In, At,' a three-book set available to fans who pre-order their new album, 'Sainthood.'Each of the books includes writing from the sisters and photographs from three different time periods. 'On' gives a look into "the perspective that we as a band see, even from on stage," according to a post Tegan wrote on their website. In addition to the Quins, An Horse, Northern State and Alexisonfire's Dallas Green contribute writing.
'In' marks the week Tegan and Sara spent in New Orleans writing together. As opposed to their previous albums, 'Sainthood' marks the first time the sisters have actually co-authored songs. 'In' also includes photographs from the sessions as well as transcripts of phone interviews they did friends like Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla, who also produced the album.
'At' is a recap of their final tour behind their last album, 'The Con,' which took place earlier this year in Australia. Both of the sisters and their three bandmates, Ted Gowans, Shaun Huberts and Johnny Andrews, share their journals and photos from the tour, giving fans a look at what being on the road is like.
The box set can currently be purchased on the band's website for $79.99 Canadian, which is about $75 in the US. Unfortunately, a deluxe edition that includes Rorschach ink blots autographed by the sisters is already sold out. 'Sainthood' is in stores Oct. 27.
