Liam Gallagher Says Oasis 'Is No Longer'

Oasis' Liam Gallagher has declared the band "is no longer" – and has said he is already thinking about his next musical direction.

In an interview with the UK's Times newspaper based around his clothing line Pretty Green, Gallagher junior spoke for the first time about the band's apparent demise, after Noel Gallagher walked out of the band shortly before a Paris gig in August.

Liam said: "It was a joy and it was always a bit of a bummer when the tour ended. You know, it was great. Obviously you've got to get back and see the missus and the kids and all that. Nothing lasts forever. But it was never, 'Uh, f***, I need to get off the tour because my head's up my arse.'"

When asked whether the fashion line was a solo project to divert him from oasis' problems, he said: "Well, Oasis is no longer. I think we all know that. So that's done."

The interviewer then asked if Liam truly believed the band was over.

He said: "Oh, I know. Without a doubt. And it's a shame but that's life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is, no one ... we ended Oasis. No one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of ... cool. I'm thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind's on."

Noel Gallagher – who released a statement saying he could no longer work with Liam days after the split – has not yet made public his post-Oasis plans, but is widely rumoured to be planning a solo album.
