U2 Want Their Own Version of 'Rock Band'
- Posted on Oct 8th 2009 11:30AM by Dan Reilly
The odds are good that most people will never be able to experience what being a part of U2 is like. But now, fans of the megastar rockers might be able to get the next best thing, as a U2-centric version of 'Rock Band' could be on the way.Last year, the band was in negotiations with MTV Games and Electronic Arts to do a version of the popular video game franchise, but U2 ultimately nixed the idea. "We definitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of the compromises weren't what we wanted," bassist Adam Clayton told USA Today. "That could change. I love the idea that that's where people are getting music, and we'd love to be in that world. We'll figure something out."
The change of heart on the part of Bono isn't due to their lack of tour profits so far; they were inspired after seeing the finished product of 'The Beatles: Rock Band,' which was released last month. "What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we're interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation," Clayton said. "We didn't want to be caricatured."
Well, if the programmers are truly going to capture Bono, fans should have their pick of expensive sunglasses to put on his avatar.

I find your comments distasteful and insulting, first off U2 on a number of occaisions ditanced themselves from being pro IRA of the time andif you listen to songs such as Sunday bloody sunday and please you will see exactly where they stand.
I am very proud of the original IRA and their achievements in removing the English from taking the country for their own after over 800 years of terrorism by as your name states MONSTER.......
It's a game. You do not learn music. Get a life.

around for 30 years and happen to be an awesome band. And
for all you Bono haters out there,at least HE'S done something instead of sitting on his ass like 99% of the
rest of you people.Sure he may have an ego,but tell me
what rock star doesnt??
First off I love them. Bono has one of the biggest hearts and gives a lot to charity. I am sure that if this comes to fruitation, charity will receive a portion of the sales. For that alone, I would buy it for my son

WHAT A BONEHEAD..TO COMPARE HIS ALPHABET ABBREVIATED, WHINY, EVERY SONG SOUNDS THE SAME BAND TO THE "BEATLES" IS PREPOSTEROUS. WHAT HAVE THEY WRITTEN? THIRTY OR FORTY SONGS? GET BACK TO US IN A COUPLE OF DECADES WHEN YOU REACH 300. YOU'RE LUCKY THEY EVEN WANT YOU ON THEIR GAME.
October 09 2009 at 1:35 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe ultimate Zen question......who has the biggest ego of all time, Bonehead, (I mean Bono), or Barry Obama? Think long enough and you will reach enlightenment.
October 09 2009 at 12:16 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyBoy Bono is full of himself to compare himself to John & Paul, but then again I never really liked him or U2...
October 08 2009 at 9:48 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySusan, work on your reading comprehension. Where does Bono compare himself to John and Paul? He's not even quoted in the article. ADAM says they liked the quality of the animation and didn't want to be caricatured. Obviously, you don't like Bono. If you need help criticizing him, I can help you find something based in reality.
