The Bravery rocked New York City's Terminal 5 on Thursday night, treating fans to a slew of both old and new tracks. Lead singer Sam Endicott, clad in head-to-toe white denim, welcomed the crowd with blazing vocals on a pumped-up version of 'Unconditional,' the band's 2005 breakout hit that catapulted them into indie rock superstardom.

After punching through a set of mostly old favorites, including 'No Brakes,' and the pop-infused 'Public Service Announcement,' the band took part in a round of musical chairs. While normally tucked away on the left side of the stage, bassist Mike Hindert emerged front and center last night, and sang a ballad while Endicott retreated to Hindert's position with the rest of the band. Hindert's romantic 'She Is So Bendable' was a welcoming break in the midst of the hard-hitting, darker songs the quintet thrashed through during their set.

The track was a rapid departure from the Bravery's gritty, synth-pop sound, and is rumored to be quite telling of what's next for the band musically. Hindert's song was soft and melodic, flexing the band's creative muscles. Since working with producer Jon Hill (M.I.A., Santigold), their sound has morphed and matured into a much more "dreamy" and "spacier" sound, according to Endicott. Fans never wavered while Hindert glided through his song. In fact, it was an opportunity for the sweaty, worked-up crowd to catch their breath and soak in the change in musical line-up, and sound.

The Bravery has been known for their ability to pinch hit. While Endicott is the lead on vocals, all of the other members sing back-up, and most have taken a stab at song-writing as well. Guitarist Mike Zakarin showed off his drumming skills during a song last night. Hindert not only sings and plays bass, but he has proved he's a jack-of-all-trades, after most recently directing the band's disturbingly edgy new video for "Hate F*ck," the new track off their upcoming release, "Slow Poison." It's pretty clear these guys truly can do it all.
