Book Researchers Say Photo of Jim Morrison's Ghost Is Real

Jim Morrison has been dead for almost four decades, but a snapshot belonging to longtime rock historian Brett Meisner allegedly shows the Doors frontman haunting his own grave. And now, just in time for Halloween, a book now claims the image may be authentic. Back in 1997, Meisner decided to take a snapshot next to the rock legend's grave in the famous Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris, not exactly an uncommon thing to do considering some 1,000 people visit the grave daily. The photo, taken by Meisner's assistant, shows the historian casually standing next to Morrison's plot with one hand in his pocket and a white cloudy shadow to his left, the latter going unnoticed until Meisner finally decided to revisit the photo in 2002. The cloudy, obscure image to Meisner's left is said to be the deceased singer himself.
Word quickly spread thanks to the Internet, and the historian had the photo analyzed by some folks who do that sort of thing -- and they concluded that the snapshot may indeed be as bone chilling as it was first perceived. These researchers rule out both lightning and image manipulation and conclude that the photo is simply "unexplainable." In an even more eerie coincidence, the photo is featured in a new book titled 'Ghosts Caught on Film 2: Photographs of the Unexplained.'
"Part of me wishes that I never stepped foot into the graveyard in the first place," Meisner told the UK's Sunday Express, adding that his life was never the same after taking it. Not only did he say his marriage dissolved, but in an eerie coincidence to Morrison's life, Meisner acknowledged losing a close pal to a drug overdose as well. He also recounted that the photo also brought all sorts of characters to his door, claiming they bore messages from the rock god.
"At first it was sort of interesting to see how many people felt a spiritual bond with Jim and the photo," Meisner said, "but now the whole vibe seems negative." While this book maintains that the snapshot is real, skeptics will counter that the image of Morrison's ghost is -- appropriately for Mr. Mojo Risin' -- double exposed.

The biggest load of rubbish I've seen since, well, the last featured story. This is a bit like claiming that star wars is real because some nutter wrote a book saying so. The source's reliability determines the reliability of the information; anything called "Ghosts Caught on Film 2: Photographs of the Unexplained" rules itself out even by the title.

Geez, guys, lighten up. Between the racist rants, the righties making things up and the ads for hookers, it's refreshing to have a ghost story.

for all you "skeptics" on this board stop acting like such pompous asses. i'm kind of a half skeptic and i say that because no one can be sure about anything past death, unless they're dead, which you're not, so stop acting like you have the know-all end-all answer and let people have their faith. some people need the idea of an afterlife because of one thing or another that's happened in their life so just let ppl have their ideas... they aren't hurting yours any...

I'm not particularly religious, but I've lived in several haunted houses, in Vermont and Utah, as well as my current home in Tennessee, which is an 1888 Victorian. Some ghosts bring a definite chill into the room and make the hair stand up on your neck; and you feel what can only be a sense of dread, plus the emotion of the spirit in the saddest cases. Other ghosts are quite benign and just hang out, they are something you can sense but they aren't evil or anything. Being 53 years old I can say they are definitely real. Can they affect the current reality we live in? I don't know, never had any kind of furniture move or anything like that.

so what if it is or isnt, some people need to believe that we arent the only things on this crazy planet of ours, and then again, some folks spend their whole lives trying to make those who do choose to believe feel like retards. i think there are so many things that just cant be explained and should be viewed as powerfull things way beyond our knowledge and control. i would like to think that, that indeed is mr mojo rison but who knows. when you all kick the bucket, ask him yourself.

Man, This dug up a lot of nasty personality for some people...It's just a story, why such a crappy attitude, like anything you don't agree with you want to shut-up, just let it be what it is.
You angry skeptics don't know everything...maybe that's what makes you so angry, something you can't control?

You can't prove its a real ghost just by determining that the photo isn't tamperd with. Same goes for trying to prove that its not a real ghast you need solid evidence proving if its real or not.

Plus, add in an English accent to the claim to have it seem even more viable

Jay to each his own.
to steve, I think you are the one with the small mind. After all you are the one that needs to learn to spell. I have never seen the word should spelt ...SHOOD....that is what a ferrier does to a horse.ie..you shood a horse when you put the shoes on.
LEARN TO SPELL or at least learn how to hit the spell check key on your computer

I agree with steve, stop being so closed minded. Morrison thought he and i quote "I am the lizzard king, I can do anything." Wouldn't suprise me a bit to see his ghost lapping up all the attention.

Simple Optical Illusion. On a laptop screen move to side to side and you can tell its just the brick colors making up his left arm or the one on the right as we see it. unless his arm has three segments. The shadow from the doorway which is recessed moves in at an angle because of the cameras position. And the shadow that is his face runs into the rest of the doorway. And if you look closely his right leg does not line up with his body on his right side. the way the shadowing is makes it appear to have black pants on. And look at his midsection unless he has put on some weight around the hips. the white shirt effect is the sunlight shining it the recessed doorway at that time of day. It would be easy to reproduce the same effect with the f stop macking the background a little fuzzy

The idiot who thinks shood is a word (it isn't accordingly to the Cambridge dictionary) shouldn't be criticizing people for misspelling words. Perhaps, you're thinking of the word shod.

I went to his grave back in the early 80's. I came home and decided to play a record of his. Yes a licorice pizza, a big black disc, a record. I had Riders On The Storm playing when I looked over and it was on Tuner. I went over to the system and switched it to Turntable and nothing changed. Turns out it was on the radio at the same moment in the song it was on the turntable.
Im an LA woman and maybe you CAN petition the Lord with prayer.......

Jay is correct, all of you who believe or want to believe in this bullshit are “nutters”. To doc, I bet you're the type of guy that can always find a way to work in the "racist and rightie" comments in all your posts. You are obviously smarter and more enlightened than the rest of us. As far as the ghost, interesting that the ghost is the skinny Morrison, not the fat load washout that he became.
