Editors started a brilliant marketing campaign for their upcoming LP 'In This Light and on This Evening.' They've launched a new website that gives the impression that they've hacked into Google Street View, allowing fans to tour parts of London and stream their new tunes. Legacy Recordings is planning to capitalize on the holidays and what would have been Elvis Presley's 75th birthday by releasing a 100-song box set called 'Elvis 75: Good Rockin' Tonight.' The four-disc collection will hit stores Dec. 8th.
Footage of Sonic Youth rocking out on 'Gossip Girl' has now hit the web.
Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor has unveiled a new track, 'Ghosts,' from his side project CANT.

This is a fantastic way to get users to discover an album and interact with a band. I like the integration of 360 degree images where we can explore The Editors' interpretation of "the mood and magic of London at night," as this creates a relationship with the group. Also a great way to discover London and connect with the band over shared locations.
I think we're going to be seeing more and more of these innovative launches both in the entertainment industry and across the board by brands.
I posted more on it here: http://bit.ly/4s4SgH
