Will Hoge Brings 'The Wreckage' to Spinner Headquarters

A little over a year ago, Will Hoge got into a terrible accident on his scooter that left him with broken ribs and shoulder caps, a broken sternum and knee cap, a shattered femur, lacerations to his body that required over 100 stitches and several other injuries. The trauma postponed, but didn't stop, the singer-songwriter from working on his new album, 'The Wreckage.'Hoge recently stopped by Spinner's New York office en route to a show at the Bowery Ballroom to treat the staff to an acoustic performance of some tunes from the record. Songs played included 'Favorite Waste of Time,' 'Hard to Love,' 'Just Like Me' and 'Even if It Breaks Your Heart,' which he told Spinner "was written about falling in love with rock 'n' roll all over again."
"It's been such a long process getting it together over the last year and a half," Hoge admitted. "Any time there's a new album, there's always such a process in this day and age. To be able to write enough songs to make a record, and keep a band together, and get a record done and get somebody to put it out is a struggle enough. Coupled with everything else that went on during the process of making the record, it's just that much sweeter to have it done and out."
Indeed, Hoge proved that he is definitely back in the swing of things with his rousing performance. He's currently touring throughout the US, and is set to appear on the Rock Boat -- a four-night cruise alongside acts like Sister Hazel and Augustana -- in early January.
